Our Story
Earlybirds was established over 23 years ago by a premmie mum, for other premmie parents and caregivers, when founder Lynda gave birth unexpectedly to her son Jackson ten weeks prematurely in Melbourne, Australia.
He weighed 1.2 kgs/3 pounds and Lynda experienced enormous difficulty finding clothes to fit him during his first few months, especially ones that accommodated the many monitors attached to his tiny fragile body.
To alleviate this problem for others, Lynda decided to develop a range of clothing specifically for premature and small babies. After 12 months of research with parents, specialists and NICU nurses, Earlybirds was born.
Today, over 23 years on, we are still just as passionate about the work we do and the community we are proud to belong to.

Our weight based size options accommodate babies from 800g through to 3.5kg, allowing your baby to wear clothes that fit beautifully as they should every baby.

The highest quality natural and 100% organic cotton have been sourced and tested thoroughly ensuring they are free from harmful chemicals and substances.

This video was created in 2022 in celebration of our 20th birthday and reflects back on why Earlybirds began and our journey over the past 20 years.
It has been an incredible journey to make the lives of premature and sick babies and their families better and to contribute positively to the premmie community.

I admire the brand you have created. I never thought I would have to buy clothes so small. The moment you get to put clothes on them is huge!
I’m so glad I found this brand during my complex first pregnancy; it allowed me to savour the experience of buying some beautiful baby clothes whilst knowing they would fit our tiny and premature baby.
The suits were the biggest blessing given the delicateness of the lines in her arm basically keeping her alive - we will forever be grateful.
Alexis is now 9 years old!! A sassy little pocket rocket full of energy, dreams and love. I still have her very first Earlybirds NICU onsie, forever as a memory that miracles do happen!!
Being able to finally dress your baby in the NICU is a huge milestone and dressing them in beautiful clothes makes it so much more special.
