Our warehouse team have been busy this week preparing three different shipments to local charities and organisations as part of our ongoing dedication to give back to our local community in Melbourne and wider prematurity community across Australia.
Two packages are headed to our long term friends NICU Cheer and Life’s Little Treasures Foundation for their Premmie Packs. The third is for a new friend of Earlybirds - the Caroline Chisholm Society, an accredited and registered community service that provides a broad range of support to families in the Western suburbs of Melbourne with a focus on working with women and their families to promote and enhance early childhood and parenting outcomes.
The Caroline Chisholm Society fervently believe that no child should go without the basics in clothing and essentials and we are proud to be donating our Earlybirds NICU Suits and Sleeping Pouches for their preemie families in need as part of their newly relaunched ‘First 1000 Days’ initiative.
The Caroline Chisholm Society is one of the only services that work with pregnant women and their families to help them navigate what’s called the ‘First 1000 Days’ of a child’s life, from the time of conception to their babies’ 2nd birthday. They provide families with nappies, shoes, blankets and mum packs for soon-to-be or new mums as well as brand new clothing as part of their newborn baby packs and we are very proud to play a small part in ensuring these packs are inclusive of babies born prematurely.
The Society has been operating for over 50 years supporting some of Melbourne’s most vulnerable and at-risk women and children, including those impacted by family violence, homelessness, exploitation and involved with child protection. To discuss your needs, please contact the Society on 1800 134 863 for further information.
